Coastal Refurb…

Hasn’t been a photo on here for a while so I thought I would share this one which made the Flickr “explore” so I’m quite happy for that.

Photo: Camera Update

Alright, I’ve been on eBay again !

Dakine Sequence Camera Pack: £19 collected

So lets start with the backpack. The Dakine sequence camera pack is designed for hardcore expedition sorta stuff, so that’s ticking boxes for when I’m out on my mountain bike with the camera on me. I’m usually flying down stairs and things so I don’t think all the bouncing around is good for a camera.

Inside is basically a second removable single strap carry bag, and as you can see it looks super empty and non elite but still plenty of space for things like bottle-rockets and sandwiches for all I know. Overall this was an awesome purchase and the seller was very cool despite letting this go very cheap, I gave them £20 just to keep it simple.

Velbon Sherpa 250 Pan-head Tripod: £26 delivered (from Scotland!)

I was a bit worried about tripod choice, with most directions pointing to Manfrotto kit I was feeling the urge to spend out on something a bit too good for my novice use. After looking at countless ball head tripods and forum arguments about ball vs. pan-head the brand Velbon was standing out as a good budget tripod for my measly budget, especially the 250/250r model. I think this 250 model must of been the one before the 250r and has probably been long discontinued, but despite this it’s in really good shape, the pan-head is amazing. I think I’m ready to join David Attenborough for some wildlife filming documentary 🙂 Joking aside this seems to be a sturdy piece of kit, I could probably attach a sniper rifle to this thing, oh wait I’m making jokes again…

The 35-105 Update

This lens has somehow fixed itself, how I don’t know but I got it out of the drawer the other week with ideas of taking it apart but when I switched the AF-Manual slider it clicked over flawlessly ! So now the manual focus is working but I’ve noticed it’s not very smooth, probably a result on being left on AF for years and put away in a loft (sellers eBay listing stated it had been in storage for years). To finish off this one I got the original 58mm lens cap along with 5 rear EF lens covers because this and the 28-80 needed one anyway. All that is left now is the damn weather, it’s either raining/windy/boring grey overcast so I’ve got no new photos, but I’ll be out as soon as I see some clear skies.
